Laura Ashley SS13 Collection
It’s a new season (hurrah!) which means a brand new wardrobe and luckily Laura Ashley has a vibrant, bold and gorgeous collection to see us through SS13.
Think pretty pastels, stand out colour and minimal neutrals for a clean, fresh and zingy way to kick off our favourite time of the year. Nothing makes us happier than the arrival of spring/summer and a fabulous new range to fill up our closet.
We take you through the key trends at Laura Ashley this season and THE pieces to stock up on to ensure you stay bang on trend through rainy spring days and hot summer nights.
Think zesty oranges and lemon yellows to make a statement in. Keep one key piece bright and pair it with silver grey or stone for a high-fashion, luxe style. Shapes are simple and understated, but with attention to detail such as a skinny belt on trousers. Accessories after all pull an outfit together and can instantly take a daytime outfit to night.
Spring/summer is all about colour and so it should be. Block colour is a great way to brighten up a dull outfit, whether it’s a cobalt blue jacket against black jeans or orange chinos against a crisp white blouse.
This look continues to have a feminine feel with pretty broderie detail and floral lace blouses in vivid colours. Make sure you inject bright hues into your wardrobe this SS13.
Get in the holiday spirit with sandy neutral tones and yummy pastels for a pretty, girlie edge. Coral is set to be massive once again thanks to the revival last year and blush and toffee tones are also set to make a comeback this SS13.
Look out for ice cream colour stripes for a playful attitude and chunky, cropped knits to carry on the knitwear trend through to spring/summer. After all, knitwear isn’t just confined to autumn/winter. Thinner fabric can be used to create a lighter cover up for those chilly spring evenings.
This trend is all about chalky colours and tinted pastels such as dusty pink and lavender (very feminine), which burst into colour with pops of brighter accent shades such as cherry, raspberry or lavender, bringing a modern and sporty edge to this look.
The focus is on coloured bottoms in nearly neutral shades with crisp oxford cotton shirts and loose jersey tees or knits. The overall look is washed and laundered with a soft paisley print central to the story.
