The Clothes Show Live 2013
On Monday, we took a trip to Birmingham for The Clothes Show Live for a nosey at the catwalk trends, a little bit of retail browsing and some street style snapping.
Alright, so it’s not technically street style because there is no street involved, just a bright fuchsia carpet that tended to turn everyone pink, but we’re all out of snappy phrases.
I went for comfort in my outfit, a standard pair of Converse, River Island t-shirt dress, a Uniqlo HEATTECH polo neck and a blingy Primark statement necklace.
First on the agenda was the catwalk show. It kicked off with a range of heritage inspired pieces, quickly followed by sports luxe.
Following the sporty collection we were treated to the most sparkly, glittery and predominantly gold outfits that may very well have inspired a few Christmas/New Years Eve looks.
The dancers for the show were incredible.
A club tropicana/90s mashup ensued and got us all excited for next summer.
The models got down to their smalls for the final collection in a range of jewel coloured satin, black and white.
Look! It’s Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model winner, Jade Thompson!
After the catwalk show we grabbed a spot of greasy lunch (scampi and chips for me, pork roll for Vicky) and then headed off to take a look at what was on offer and spot some street style champions.
Owl bag, anyone?
Love a good vest with a face on.
The fur coats were very tempting and the vintage jewellery had us ‘oohing and ‘ahhing’. Those gold chains are so ‘Rihanna’, don’t you think?
I really loved the peacock feather detail on this sweater and am kicking myself a bit now for not buying it.
How amazing are these wooden iPhone cases?!
After taking in the sites of many, MANY clothes stores we went on a little hunt for some of the most stand out stylistas. Black and tartan were really feeling the love and we’ve been prompted to go on a bit of a tartan shopping spree.
