LIVE FASHION BLOG – XFactor, the fashion hits and misses with celeb stylist Laura Jane Turner
From 8pm on Saturday night we are pleased to host Laura Jane Turner, a celebrity stylist and fashion-knowledge powerhouse to MyCelebrityFashion. She will be live blogging on this very page, through every outfit hit and miss that appears during the show.
Given the Kermit and Miss Piggy scandal of a few weeks ago between Cheryl and Mel B, we know there are set to be fireworks on the fashion front.
Feel free to ask questions or join in via the comments section below, or via our Twitter or Facebook pages. Get involved people!
8PM – Laura Jane Turner here! Excited to be taking the wheel of My Celebrity Fashion for tonight’s X Factor antics…
UPDATE: *fun fact* I’m such a die hard Queen fan, so tonight is either going to be a LOVE or HATE from me – I hope these guys can pull it off! But of course it’s not all about the voices – let’s see those outfits!
UPDATE: Here come the judges! For me, Cheryl has absolutely killed it this week – looking drop dead gorgeous in her dazzling red number by Zuhair Murad.
UPDATE: Paul didn’t seem to be having much of a “good time” this week. He has the voice, but not the X Factor – and he played it safe in the style stakes this week wearing High Street favourites River Island and Topman, but he has a solid personal image and it worked.
UPDATE: Will Jay James experience the same fateful curse of Diana Vickers – a favourite knocked from the pedestal by losing their voice? I loved the visual staging of the performance, but the styling didn’t match up to the theatrics of the song for me – and the judges seemed to be in agreement too.
UPDATE: Lauren Platt’s image has been absolutely nailed for me. Week after week, there’s a perfect balance of styling and staging. I think she’s one of the few acts that has a visual identity that perfectly compliments her sound and audience. A little pop star! This week she dazzled in a warm and beautifully autumnal sequinned dress.
UPDATE: Only The Young epitomise a fresh, young, quirky style – but unlike their name, it’s not only for the youngsters. It’s great to see some high end designer pieces including a GORGEOUS jacket by Jeremy Scott and some classic Versace print.
UPDATE: So I was holding out for Stevi to come out rocking a leather mini skirt and suspenders, accessorised with a hoover… disappointed is an understatement.
UPDATE: I’m sure it’s not only Louis that will be struggling with an eight piece boy band (yes, do we all remember when the mentor slagged off his own act?) Pulling together complete outfits for four lads in four sizes can be a challenge enough, but double that and it can get a little hectic! It even seems like they almost had a ninth member join tonight…. think of all the shoes!
UPDATE: Fleur disappointed me tonight in the style stakes. She’s had a consistent street style EDGE week after week – but quite honestly tonight’s ensemble was a little yawn-worthy. Sure, it was a nice dress. Nice! But it lacked any wow-factor. It lacked that urban edge. I would have liked to see something a little more rihanna-esque risqué to keep that street chic vibe we’ve come to expect with Fleur. And with Abs like hers, why would you hide them under all that material anyway?!
UPDATE: To be honest, it doesn’t really matter what Andrea wears. Ain’t nobody looking at his clothes with that voice! That being said, nothing has come close to the glamour of that Pug jumper…
9.40PM – Thank you for joining me for tonight’s show! I’ve loved sharing my opinions on X Factor’s fashion highs and lows… Make sure you tweet MyCelebrityFashion or comment below and let us know what you made of it!
