The Best Christmas Jumpers For 2014 – The Weird and Wonderful

Now, before you start with the ‘why are you talking about Christmas? It’s only November!’, if the past few years have taught us anything it’s that you can never buy your Christmas jumper too early. We don’t want to be trawling the high street and the internet a week before our Christmas parties trying to hunt out any remaining Christmas jumpers, and then having to settle for one that’s far too big, but it’s OK because we ‘the bigger, the warmer it is’. Let’s not be that person again this year.

2014 is your year to have the best Christmas jumper amongst your friends, family and colleagues, and we’ve spent our time trawling the internet for the best jumpers so that you don’t have to. Here’s our top 20 (in no particular order, because they’re all just awesome)…

New Look: Stone Jingle All The Way Christmas Jumper – £14.99

“Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way…” How can you not love a Christmas jumper that is almost guaranteed to get everyone singing with just one glance? “…Oh! What fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.”

Marks & Spencer: Christmas Embellished Stocking Jumper – £28

It’s a Christmas tradition for many to wake up on Christmas morning to find a stocking at the bottom of their bed – it’s the pre-treat to going downstairs and finding your presents laid out underneath the Christmas tree. The subtle sparkles in this jumper give off an air of glitz to catch everyone’s eye.

Boohoo: North Pole Christmas Jumper – £20

This cheeky little number is sure to put a smile on many faces this festive season. It’s innocent enough to be viewed by anyone of any age, but cheeky enough that the older generations will understand the undertones. It’s going to be a Merry Christmas, indeed.

House of Fraser: Yumi Xmas Pug Jumper – £40

For those of you wanting to wear something a little less traditional and a little more quirky, why not purchase a jumper of a Pug wearing a Christmas jumper? That surely makes this a Christmas jumper? Besides, who doesn’t love Pugs? They’re quickly becoming as cool as cats on the internet.

Dorothy Perkins: Snowman Face Jumper – £28

For many of us, building snowmen is a Christmas experience that we cherish – the only downside is that we’re not guaranteed to get snow every year (booo!). So, just in case we don’t get the white winter we’re all secretly hoping for, why not show off your support for snowmen by getting yourself a knitted jumper with a happy snowman face on the chest?

John Lewis: Barbour Martingale Cobalt Long Sleeve Jumper, Stone – £79.95

Exclusive to John Lewis, this Barbour jumper is stylish, ideal for a cooler winter and is available in both stone and cobalt blue for the more jazzy. Complete with elbow patches and ribbed cuffs, this jumper can be worn both smart and casual, for pretty much all occasions.

Missguided: Conversational Christmas Jumper – £21.99

This oversized jumper by Missguided would look great with leggings or skinny jeans, but to really spice things up you can purchase the matching knee-length skirt to really get into the festive spirit and make others jealous. Also, what better conversation starter is there than your outfit?

Dorothy Perkins: Navy Candy Cane Jumper – £28

Dotty P knows that when it comes to Christmas, we just can’t resist a good candy cane (or two), so they’ve combined our love for candy canes with a snowy backdrop to bring us this long sleeved Navy jumper ideal for Winter.

House of Fraser: Howick Bergen Snowflake Crew Neck – £55

For the stylish man in your life who doesn’t want a reindeer emblazoned across his chest and would prefer something a little more subtle, this snowflake jumper gives off just a hint of Christmas joy, mixed with class and sophistication. This jumper comes in both red and navy and is ideal for both family gatherings and work parties.

New Look: Red Coca-Cola Christmas Sweater – £19.99

We all know that it’s not truly Christmas until we see the Coca Cola Christmas advert – some people can go weeks without seeing it, even though it’s all they hear from their friends. So, for all those missing out, why not wear the Coca Cola jumper and spread the Christmas joy to everyone who walks past you?

Missguided: Damita Velcro Slogan Knitted Jumper, Red – £22.99

Good Vibes aren’t quite what Mariah Carey had in mind when she sang ‘All I Want For Christmas’, but it’s not a bad second choice.

Marks & Spencer: Christmas Robin & Fairisle Jumper – £25

Who doesn’t love a bloke who wears a Christmas jumper covered in robins, Christmas trees and snowflakes? It’s possible that the only thing missing from this jumper is Rudolph, but we wouldn’t want to overload it (and we all know that Rudolph and the other reindeers don’t arrive until the night before Christmas).

Boohoo: Eva Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal Jumper – £15

This jumper was hugely popular back in 2013, so it’s no surprise that it’s making a comeback this year (and possibly will do for every year to come). Based on the Macauley Culkin hit movie, Home Alone, ‘Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal’ will forever take us back to our childhoods; sat watching Christmas films, drinking a hot chocolate and waiting for Santa to come down the chimney. This is one of our faves this year, so grab yourself one whilst you still can.

John Lewis: White Stuff Penguins Jumper, Grey – £49

You may look at this jumper and wonder where you’ve seen it – that’s because it’s from the White Stuff collection and featured in John Lewis’ latest ah-mazing Christmas advert, with no other than Monty & Mabel. Who doesn’t love the thought of two penguins finding love at Christmas? Look at them – they’re just too cute.

Urban Outfitters: Urban Renewal Vintage Surplus Pop Fair Isle Jumper – £55

Some men don’t like to buy jumpers specifically for Christmas, in which case this jumper is ideal as it can be worn all year round. Is it a bunch of snowflakes? Is it just a really cool design? See. Come Christmas he can say it’s for Christmas and throughout the rest of the year he can argue that it’s not. Win, win.

House of Fraser: Vero Moda Reindeer Knit Jumper – £18.20

If you’re looking for a bargain this festive season, this short reindeer jumper is currently on sale, originally retailing at £26. This short-length jumper will add a touch of fun to any outfit and works best with high-waisted jeans or leggings.

John Lewis: French Connection Polar Fun Wool Blend Jumper, Burnt Whiskey – £79

This fun little jumper can we worn all year round, but will bring additional smiles to faces over the festive period. Let’s be fair – it’s hard not to love something that has a Polar Bear on. Due to its relaxed cut, this jumper teams well with skinny jeans or a leather mini skirt.

Marks & Spencer: Christmas Crew Neck Jumper – £29.50

Wait, what is this? Rudolph pretending to be Santa? Oh, Rudolph. You’ve got to laugh at this Christmas jumper, it’s so funky and beats most other Santa jumpers and Rudolph jumpers. This knitted jumper is ideal to wear on Christmas day, especially once you’ve had your fill of roast dinner and have the food-baby to provide Santa’s belly. We’re not judging – we’ve got our elasticated trousers at the ready.

New Look: Cream Deer Santa Print Christmas Jumper – £22.99

Deer Santa… get it? Of course you do. We love a good pun, and if you do too then this is the jumper for you. Oh dear, this is turning into a bit of a rhyme. This round neck, soft finish jumper is ideal for those of you who don’t want an in-your-face Christmas jumper, but still want to show your love for this time of the year.

Boohoo: Pam Rudolph Jumper With Pom Nose – £20

Rudolph has a bright red nose, we all know this. So what better way to show off Rudolph than with a pom nose that hangs off your jumper? Well, in all honesty, any jumper with poms on is a hit with us. If red isn’t your colour, or you want Rudolph’s nose to stand out a little bit more, fear not because this jumper also comes in ecru and navy.
