Alexandra Burke is 2008's winner of ITV's The X-Factor, beating second place JLS and third place Eoghan Quigg. Her first single, 'Hallelujah', is destined to be the 2008 Christmas number 1.
Alexandra is from North London, and has four brothers, a sister, and lives with her mum who used to sing with Soul II Soul.
Alexandra started singing at the age of five and when she was 9 yrs old she was passed the microphone at one of her mother's gigs. Aged 12 Alexandra entered Star for a Night. She was the youngest person in the competition and was beaten to first place by Joss Stone.
Since leaving school, Alexandra has pursued a career in music. In 2005 she auditioned for The X Factor and got through to the Judges Houses stage. However, Louis said she was too young and ended her X Factor dream in Dublin.
She chased her dream, however, and is predicted to become a global superstar, much like her X-Factor predecessor, Leona Lewis.
