The trends have been revealed for spring and summer 2012 by the top names in fashion. We have picked out the key trends that we predict will be everywhere by spring and summer, so you can pick up the most stylish outfits and be fashion forward ready for the up-coming season's new fashion. And the best news is that you don't have to spend a fortune to be ahead of the rest in the most fashionable outfits as we've found the best bargains.
A popular colour amongst the catwalks was blue. Bold blue outfits were all over many designer collections, and by following this trend, it's a simple and easy way to be ready for spring and summer's big trends. A tip is to ensure that wearing blue you don't wear similar coloured denim, to avoid looking too matched. Black and grey are colours that look great with blue. This Police 883 Chandler Polo T-shirt, £34.99, Republic is bang-on-trend with two shades of blue in one easy to wear polo.
Another big trend that was amongst the catwalks of brands such as Gucci was plaid and check. To keep this look wearable, don't go overboard, and team with neutral clothing in order to keep your look stylish without being OTT and loud. This Cheap Monday Neo Navy & Wine Check Shirt, £45, Urban Outfitters is great for a casual look, and hit two trends in one as it's a cool navy blue. Check and plaid shirts are often worn by celebrities such as Russell Brand and Frankie Cocozza wore one on his entrance into the Celebrity Big Brother house.
If you want to be fashion-forward but you're on a budget, then mix up your look with stripes for an easy way to be in fashion this spring and summer. Stripes were a theme seen all over the menswear collection from Alexander McQueen and is easily recreated to suit your style. We found this Navy Block Stripe Crew Neck T-shirt, £16, Burton, fits the trend perfectly with a mixture of bold block stripes and thinner stripes.
Tribal and Aztec style patterns are going to be a big trend this spring and summer. Wear colours such as khaki, rust, and mustard, brown, wine red and dark grey to get the Aztec look, and look for patterned clothing in these colours. Tribal and Aztec style was seen in the spring and summer collections for designers such as Michael Kors and Burberry. Our favourite high street takes on this style is this Burgundy Aztec Trim Rucksack, £28, Topman and this Workshop Red Indian Price Tee, £28, Urban Outfitters, which would work well with skinny or straight leg jeans, and are bang on trend for the upcoming seasons.
