It's no secret that pastels are HOT for Spring Summer 2012 and we are loving Topshop's latest drop. Amongst some rather 'out there' metallics are a heap of gorgeous ice cream shade pastels. Here are our top 5 pastels new in at Topshop.
I'm a sucker for anything with a high waist and these Mint Tall High Waisted Hot Pants, £28 are as tasty as they sound. These would look fab on a leggy lady with a band tee tucked in and are just the kind of thing you'd see on the lovely Alexa Chung.
While the weather is still not quite the tropical climes we've been hoping for, inject some fresh Spring colour with this Knitted Contrast Stitch Jumper, £32. It's not too heavy so will carry you through until early Summer. Contrast with some black panel leggings or a leather high waist skirt, very Fearne Cotton!
These baby blue Moto Cloud Supersoft Skinny Leigh Jeans, £38 are the one item you need if you just want to invest in one pastel piece this season. They're not totally out there for skinny jeans, so can be teamed with all sorts of pieces. This pastel shade would look perfect on darker skin tones but could also be worn by pale girlies because they won't wash out your face. Try wearing a patterned Navajo print jumper on top.
This Palm Tree Drop Arm Top, £26 is perfect for rocking a quirky, retro look. It's straight out of the 1960s and would look gorgeous with some high waisted hot pants. If you want to go all out with the pastel trend, wear this with some mint green or custard yellow hot pants.
If skinny jeans are more your cup of tea, these candy coloured Moto Candyfloss Supersoft Skinny Leigh Jeans, £38 are ideal. Pair these with some classic deck shoes and a slouchy oversized top for a relaxed look. Or if you like sporty chic, throw on some Converse or Nike Hi-tops and a racer-back vest top.
